William Dickensen

United States Air Force, World War Two

Hi -- I'am trying to trace my African-American father who was stationed at USAF Fauld, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England in World War Two. His name is William (Bill) Dickensen or Dickenson -- not sure of the spelling. My mother's name was Christina (Tina) Johnson.

I was named Margaret Christine Johnson. I was born at 35 Walton Road, Chaddesden, Derby, England on 13th July 1945.

I have a photo of my father and one of my mother and myself when I was about 3 or 4 years old. I found them when I was about 11 years old. My grandparents raised me and my grandmother said I should destroy my father's photograph, but I hid them all these years in the hope I might one day trace my father because my mother said I had no right to know who my father was -- so all she would tell me was his name and where he was stationed in England.

If she was telling the truth -- that is my father knows he has a daughter because he was here when I was born. I am now 60 years old so my father must be at least 80 if he is still alive. I am posting a photograph of him and my mother and myself in the hope someone will recognize him, because he may have got married when he returned to America after the war. So it is possible I may have siblings in America and it would be a dream come true if I could find my daddy or any siblings.

I now live in Hackney, North London, England.

My e-mail address is margaretkoroidovi@yahoo.co.uk.
